EdgeOS vs iCUE widgets

iCUE is CORSAIR's own software, and its widgets run on the XENEON EDGE while iCUE is open. EdgeOS is an independent app that fills the Edge in Desktop Mode, runs as an iCUE widget in Widget Mode, and works on your other monitors too.

CORSAIR's facts checked 16 Oct 2026. EdgeOS is ours.

Pick EdgeOS if

  • You want widgets on your normal monitors as well as the Edge.
  • You want profiles that switch by themselves when a game or app opens.
  • You'd rather not keep iCUE running just for the Edge.

Pick iCUE widgets if

  • You only use the Edge, already run iCUE for your other CORSAIR gear, and its built-in widgets cover what you need.
  • You want SimHub or CORSAIR's own sensor widgets, which come with iCUE.

They aren't either-or. In Widget Mode, EdgeOS is itself an iCUE widget, so it sits on the Edge next to iCUE's own widgets, and with Premium EdgeOS can run .icuewidget files too.

Common questions

What's the difference between EdgeOS and iCUE widgets?
iCUE is CORSAIR's own software, and its widgets run on the XENEON EDGE while iCUE is open. EdgeOS is an independent app that fills the Edge in Desktop Mode, runs as an iCUE widget in Widget Mode, and works on your other monitors too.
Should I pick EdgeOS or iCUE widgets?
EdgeOS if you want widgets on your normal monitors as well as the Edge; you want profiles that switch by themselves when a game or app opens; you'd rather not keep iCUE running just for the Edge. iCUE widgets if you only use the Edge, already run iCUE for your other CORSAIR gear, and its built-in widgets cover what you need; you want SimHub or CORSAIR's own sensor widgets, which come with iCUE.
Does EdgeOS replace iCUE?
No. EdgeOS doesn't control your CORSAIR lighting or devices. In Desktop Mode it uses the XENEON EDGE as a Windows screen without iCUE, and in Widget Mode it runs inside iCUE as a widget.
Can I use iCUE widgets inside EdgeOS?
Yes, with EdgeOS Premium. Import an .icuewidget file, such as one from the Elgato Marketplace, and place it like any other EdgeOS widget.
