This website

qaemdev.com has no ads and no third-party trackers. It counts visits itself, without cookies: pages viewed, the site a visit came from, the country (from your time zone), downloads, and clicks on store and Purchase buttons. Each visitor is counted once a day with a code that changes daily and can't be traced back to you, and only daily totals are kept.

Signing in to your account uses a cookie that keeps you signed in. The server may keep standard request logs (IP address, browser, page requested) for a short time, for security and troubleshooting.

An idea or bug report sent from the Suggest or Report a bug page is kept on qaemdev.com and emailed to QAEM: what you wrote, plus a name and email address if you gave them, used only to read it and reply. To have one deleted, email [email protected].

Asking to be notified when a product is available (“Notify me”) keeps your email address on qaemdev.com with the day you signed up, the page you signed up on, the site that sent you there (its address without the query) and any campaign tags in the link (utm_source and the like). It's used for one email when that product is out, and nothing else. Every email has an unsubscribe link; to have your address deleted, email [email protected].

Purchases

Checkout runs on Polar. Polar collects your name, email, billing details and payment information to process the order, under Polar's privacy policy. QAEM receives your order details, such as your name, email, product and country, to provide licenses and support. Your card details are never shared with QAEM.

License checks

Paid extensions check your license key with Polar's API. The check sends the key and an activation label, not your browsing data.

EdgeOS

EdgeOS keeps your settings, layouts, notes and imported widgets on your PC. It only goes online for these:

• Premium activation. Activating a Premium key sends the key, a hashed id for your PC and the PC's name to qaemdev.com, so a key works on one PC at a time. EdgeOS renews the activation with the key and the hashed id every 6 hours while it's online.
• Updates. EdgeOS checks qaemdev.com for a new version and downloads it from there. From EdgeOS 1.1.5, the check sends the EdgeOS version and a random installation ID that isn't based on you, your PC or your license key. To count how many copies are in use, qaemdev.com keeps a one-way code made from that ID (from the connection, for versions before 1.1.5) for that day and that week, and the version, never the ID or your IP address. The code can't be turned back into either or linked from one day or week to the next, and it's deleted after 120 days.
• Notifications. From EdgeOS 1.1.7, the app asks qaemdev.com for messages from QAEM every 30 minutes, sending its version and whether it's Free or Premium. Nothing about that request is kept.
• Weather. The Weather widget sends your approximate location to MET Norway (api.met.no) for the forecast and to OpenStreetMap Nominatim for the place name.
• Twitch. Signing in to Twitch talks to Twitch directly. The sign-in token stays on your PC, encrypted, and never reaches QAEM.
• Kick. Kick sends a channel's live events (chat messages, follows, subscriptions, gifts and stream status) only to a web address, so the Kick widget's events pass through qaemdev.com. They are held in memory for at most 30 minutes, only for the signed-in channel, and are never written to disk or logged. The sign-in token stays on your PC, encrypted.
• Things you start. The network speed test exchanges test data with Cloudflare (speed.cloudflare.com) when you run it, and widgets you add, including the QAEM widgets, connect to their own services as their guides describe.

Connected accounts

Some products connect to your accounts on other services, such as Discord, Twitch or Gmail. Each product's setup guide explains what it accesses and where that data goes.
