EdgeOS 1.2.0
Notice
- EdgeOS is moving to the Microsoft Store.: New versions will come from there. If you installed EdgeOS from qaemdev.com, the bell tells you when it's ready to switch (Settings → Updates → Get it from the Microsoft Store). The Store copy takes over from this one and keeps your layouts, settings and Premium license.
New
- Deutsch: EdgeOS now speaks German. Pick it under Settings → Language; by default it follows Windows.
- Remote PC widget (Premium): another PC's CPU, GPU, temperatures, game FPS, OBS status and media, over your local network. Pair it under Integrations → Remote PCs.
- GameShelf widget (Premium): your games from Steam, Epic, GOG, Battle.net, EA, Ubisoft, Xbox and Riot in one library, with art, playtime and one-tap launch.
- Wave Link Connect widget (Premium): Elgato Wave Link's channels, mixes and microphone, with faders, mutes and live meters.
- Github Connect widget (Premium): notifications, pull requests, reviews, Actions runs, issues and your contribution graph.
- Broadlink Connect widget (Premium): your Broadlink remotes and smart plugs, with learned buttons, macros and sensor readings, all on your local network.
- Notion Connect widget (Premium): browse, search and edit your Notion pages and databases as tables, boards or lists.
- Kickify widget (Premium): your Kick channel: live status, chat, events, the KICKs leaderboard and stream info.
- Kick widgets (Premium): Kick Live, Kick Chat, Kick Actions, Kick Activity and KICKs Leaders, one job each, sharing Kickify's sign-in.
- Obsidian Connect widget (Premium): today's note, tasks, quick capture, bookmarks and your writing streak from your vault. No sign-in needed.
- Slack Connect widget (Premium): unread channels and DMs, mentions, your status and quick messages.
- Stripe Connect widget (Premium): revenue, a live feed of sales, refunds and disputes, subscriptions and payouts, using a read-only key that stays on your PC.
- Clock speeds: the CPU and GPU cards can show live clock speeds. The processor's works without HWiNFO.
- Glass for each part: give any part of a widget, buttons included, a frosted glass look with adjustable blur.
- Privacy cover: the Browser and iFrame widgets can keep a page hidden until you tap it, then hide it again after a time you choose.
Dynamic Island
- Dynamic Island (Premium): a pill at the top of your screens for what's playing, Discord calls, timers, your status, the time, system stats, weather and battery. Tap it for controls, swipe for the next item.
- More to show: Focus sessions, your next calendar event, OBS recording and streaming, Twitch and Kick events, Slack mentions, game FPS, downloads, screenshots and Bluetooth devices. Each is off until you turn it on.
- Smarter priority: two items side by side, urgent alerts first, quiet hours, a game-only mode and your own rules, such as showing only OBS while you record.
- Settings: set up each item on its own, drag to reorder, pick a designed look, follow Football teams and see who is in each Discord voice channel.
Improved
- Volume Mixer: a background, border or glass for Master, Microphone or Apps now makes a card of each channel, and each of them can have its own slider, track, level and muted colours and slider thickness.
- The CPU, GPU, Memory, Disk and Network activity cards rearrange themselves when you switch parts off, so a card can show just the graph or just the number, at any size.
- A widget's list of parts shows only the parts its design has, so every one you change does something.
- Text on a background colour you pick for a part stays readable by itself.
- Deckord 1.5.1, built into EdgeOS: your voice ping shows next to the channel name, green, yellow or red like Discord's signal bars (needs the latest Qaem Hub). Joining a voice channel now shows the call instead of leaving you in the server browser, and you can turn that off.
Fixed
- CPU temperature shows on newer processors, such as the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2, whose sensors HWiNFO names differently.
- A part's background, border and corners now change Wave Link Connect's cards, faders and buttons, and those of the other designed widgets, instead of nothing.
- Customize for this layout works on the designed widgets (Football, Wave Link Connect, GameShelf and the rest): a look you pick stays instead of switching back, and light looks keep their rows readable.
- Deckord: a voice channel no longer stays stuck on "Join …?" after you've joined it, and the volume % on people's rows no longer runs into the − and + buttons.
EdgeOS 1.1.9
Fixed
- The iCUE widget no longer goes blank for a second now and then. Download the new EdgeOS widget from qaemdev.com and open it to get the fix; EdgeOS reminds you.
- Alt+Tab and Task View no longer count as an app going full screen, so they don't pause or stop the Edge.
EdgeOS 1.1.8
Added
- Deckord 1.5.0, built into EdgeOS: pictures, link previews and GIFs show right in the chat, and a tap opens them full size. The server browser has a DMs tab with your recent direct messages, and Always Show Chat keeps the chat column on screen.
Improved
- Deckord's chat shows mentions as names, highlights messages that mention you, shows files as chips and draws custom emoji.
- The EdgeOS iCUE widget now downloads from qaemdev.com: first-run setup and the "Update the EdgeOS widget in iCUE" notice open the download, and the old button under Settings → Device is gone.
EdgeOS 1.1.7
Added
- A bell in the top bar keeps EdgeOS's notifications: an update ready, the Edge connecting or disconnecting, Premium switching on or off, and news from QaemDev.
Improved
- Settings → Windows can stop EdgeOS's notifications in Windows. The bell keeps them either way.
- Clicking an EdgeOS notification in Windows opens EdgeOS.
- Deckord, Launchify, Twitchify and Browser Media Controls, built into EdgeOS, now name Qaem Hub when they need it, and offer Start Qaem Hub.
Fixed
- Deckord, Launchify and Twitchify Watch Sync inside EdgeOS no longer wait on "Start Qaem Hub" while Qaem Hub is running. Qaem Hub updates itself to fix this.
- Virtual Stream Deck: connects to Stream Deck on PCs with a VPN or proxy app, where it said "Can't reach the Stream Deck app". If something else is in the way, such as an antivirus or firewall, the deck now says so.
- Release notes no longer show "null" under the title.
EdgeOS 1.1.6
Added
- Update a Built-in Widget (PREMIUM): import a newer version of Deckord, Launchify, Twitchify, Browser Media Controls or Gmail Connect over the one built into EdgeOS. Its settings stay, and Remove update takes you back to the built-in copy.
Improved
- When an update has downloaded, a bar at the top of EdgeOS says so, with What's new and Restart to update.
- EdgeOS tells you when the EdgeOS widget in iCUE is out of date and needs importing again.
Fixed
- iCUE: a see-through dashboard no longer leaves trails, like clock digits piling up, shadows turning dark or a dark background that stays. To get this, download the EdgeOS widget for iCUE again from qaemdev.com and open it.
- Deckord inside EdgeOS was an older version than the one on the Marketplace; it is now 1.4.0.
EdgeOS 1.1.5
Added
- Your Other Monitors (FREE): use EdgeOS on your other screens, not just the XENEON EDGE. Pick a screen in Settings → Screens, and each monitor gets its own layout: choose it under Layout → Screen to edit it.
- Behind or On Top (FREE): for each monitor, choose whether EdgeOS sits on your desktop behind your apps or stays on top of every window.
- See-through Background (FREE): see and click your desktop between widgets on a monitor.
- Monitor Taskbar (FREE): hide or show the taskbar on each monitor. Hidden behind your apps, it comes back while an app covers the dashboard, so you always have a taskbar.
- Edge On or Off (FREE): turn EdgeOS off on the XENEON EDGE and use it only on your monitors.
- Several Screens at Once (PREMIUM): run EdgeOS on your Edge and all your monitors at the same time. Free works on one screen of your choice.
- CPU, GPU, Memory, Disk and Network Activity (FREE): new card widgets with the figure, a live graph and the details under it, such as recent peak, cores, free space or download and upload. Each also comes in a wide design.
- Today (FREE): the time, today's date and this month in one card, with today marked.
- Upcoming (FREE): your next marked dates, such as birthdays and trips, in a card.
- Widgets Panel (FREE): the Layout page has every widget on its right. Search or pick a category, then drag a widget onto your screen or press + to add it.
- Text Shadows (FREE): the Clock has a Shadow for its time, date and caption, and any part of any widget can have one: open the part under Layout and switch on Shadow.
- System Tray (PREMIUM): Windows' taskbar corner as a widget: hidden icons, input language, network, volume, the clock and notifications, each opening what it opens on the taskbar. The hidden icons open right on your dashboard. Four designs.
- Tray Icons (PREMIUM): the programs in your notification area. Tap one to open it. The arrow shows the hidden ones on your dashboard, or switch on Hidden icons too to have every one in the row.
- Notifications, Language and Connection (PREMIUM): how many notifications are waiting (and Do not disturb), the language you are typing in (tap for the next one) and your network with its speed.
- More Glass (PREMIUM): new Liquid glass, Frosted and Smoked glass looks, and glass you can tune: refraction at the edge, edge light, sheen, grain, colour, brightness and where the light comes from.
- Rainmeter Skins (PREMIUM): add Rainmeter skins (.rmskin) under Widgets and place them like any widget, with their settings under Customize. Opening links or programs and reading web pages stay off until you allow them for each skin. Skins that rely on Lua scripts or their own plugins may not work fully yet.
Improved
- Taskbar (PREMIUM): set it against any edge of its tile or stand it up as a column, let the bar fit the apps, fill the tile or grow past the tile as more apps open, and set spacing, padding, app buttons, grey or one-colour icons, a lift or grow under the mouse, indicator styles and colours, a divider after your pinned apps and a Start button. Each app can have its own icon and name, or be left off the bar. Turning the border off under Appearance now removes the bar's border too. An app with several windows shows a preview of each above the bar, and holding an app opens its menu there, both in your bar's look. Choose which rows that menu shows and in what order, when it closes by itself, and add your own items to any app, like a New incognito window for Chrome.
- Dashboard (FREE): the Dashboard page shows all your screens, the Edge and each monitor, with its size, mode and how many widgets it has.
- Action Bar (FREE): swiping it away and back follows your finger and slides smoothly, and your widgets stay where they are when it hides (or let them take the space, or let the bar sit over them). The handle can be a tab, pill, line or arrow, stay beside the bar while it shows, or be hidden so you swipe in from the edge, with its own size, place, colours and distance from the edge.
- Glass (FREE): the Glass look is clearer, with light along its edge, and no longer smears the edges of what is behind it.
- Text (FREE): double-click a Text on your layout to type straight into it. Live info like the time or CPU shows its current value as you type; type { or press Add value to add some.
- Clock (FREE): the date and the caption each have their own colour in the Clock's settings.
- Wallpaper Engine (PREMIUM): your wallpapers now really play on the Edge and on monitors, scenes and videos included, instead of showing a still picture.
- The + on a cell now has a search box, and Premium widgets show a Premium badge in every add menu.
- App Shortcut has a new Tile style: a small icon over the name, both in your accent colour.
- The list of widgets under your layout has a cleaner look.
- Widget Builder (PREMIUM): new Month block, a smaller unit after a number (like the % in 41 %) and bars made of pieces.
- Settings → Updates shows a "What's new" button instead of printing the whole release notes.
- The tray icon's menu now has EdgeOS's own dark look, with rounded corners on Windows 11.
- Widget settings no longer show the same name twice, as a heading and again above its box.
Fixed
- Typing into Notes, Tasks and widget sign-in fields on your Edge in Desktop Mode works again. Before, the field kept losing focus and most keys never arrived.
- Virtual Stream Deck: if it can't open your deck, the tile now says why instead of "Opening…" for ever, and it finds Stream Deck on its current port.
- Virtual Stream Deck: the Device settings look right again, and typing a deck name no longer creates a new deck with every letter. Use New deck… to make another deck, and rename decks in the Stream Deck app.
- A Wallpaper Engine wallpaper behind your dashboard in Widget Mode no longer plays sound.
- In Widget Mode, a Transparent dashboard background now shows iCUE's own background instead of dark grey.
- iCUE Custom Style: turn on Custom Style for EdgeOS in iCUE and its background colour and Transparency apply, and with Premium its accent and text colour too. With it off, EdgeOS keeps its own look. To get this, download the EdgeOS widget for iCUE again from qaemdev.com and open it.
- Steam Launcher: covers, backdrops and banners now appear for newer games that Steam hasn't cached yet.
