Set up EdgeOS

Install EdgeOS, pick Desktop Mode or Widget Mode for your XENEON EDGE and, if you bought it, activate Pro.

EdgeOS turns the XENEON EDGE into a dashboard of widgets, laid out per profile. You'll install the app, let it find the Edge, choose how the Edge runs it and pick a starter layout. EdgeOS is free; Pro is an optional one-time upgrade.

Before you start

Install

Download EdgeOS

Download EdgeOS Setup.exe, or find it on the Downloads page. It's about 80 MB.

Run the installer

Double-click EdgeOS Setup.exe. It installs EdgeOS for your Windows account, with no admin prompt, and starts it.

Follow the first-time setup

EdgeOS opens Set up EdgeOS the first time it runs:

  1. Find your Edge. EdgeOS looks for the XENEON EDGE and shows its size and whether iCUE is running. If you use the Edge through iCUE, start iCUE first.
  2. Choose a mode. Desktop Mode fills the Edge when it's a Windows screen. Widget Mode runs EdgeOS as a widget inside iCUE, next to your other widgets.
  3. Pick a layout. Start from one of the ready-made layouts. You can change every tile later on the Layout page.

You can run it again any time from Settings → First-time setup → Replay setup.

Widget Mode only: add EdgeOS to iCUE

  1. In iCUE, open XENEON EDGE → Widgets.
  2. Import edgeos.icuewidget. The Show the widget file button in the setup finds it for you.
  3. Put the EdgeOS widget on a screen page.

Activate Pro

Pro adds your own profiles, custom colours, automation and more. It's a single payment for a lifetime key that works on one PC.

  1. Buy EdgeOS Pro. Your key arrives by email and also shows under Account → Orders if you bought it with your account email.
  2. In EdgeOS, open Settings → License, paste the key and click Activate.

Activating needs the internet once. After that, EdgeOS checks in with qaemdev.com in the background and Pro keeps working offline between check-ins.

Make it yours

  • Widgets lists every built-in widget and the ones you import. Build your own with plain HTML.
  • Skins installs a whole look for the Edge from one .edgeskin file. See EdgeOS skins.
  • Appearance → Text size scales the text in every widget at once.

Updates

EdgeOS updates itself from qaemdev.com. It checks every few hours, or straight away from Settings → Check for updates.

Uninstall

Go to Settings → Apps → EdgeOS in Windows. Your settings, layouts and imported widgets live in %LOCALAPPDATA%\EdgeOS and stay there, so reinstalling picks up where you left off. Delete that folder too if you want them gone.
