Kickify puts your Kick channel on the XENEON EDGE: live status, viewers and uptime, chat you can answer, and follows, subs, gifted subs and KICKs as they happen. The widget gets its data through Qaem Hub, a free app for Windows, which also holds your Kick sign-in. You install Qaem Hub, import the widget, then allow QaemDev on Kick's own page in your browser.
Before you start
Setup
Install Qaem Hub and add Kickify
- Download Qaem Hub Setup.exe and run it. It installs for your Windows account and starts with Windows. The Qaem Hub setup guide covers the installer and the SmartScreen warning.
- In Qaem Hub, open Add modules, select Kickify and click Install selected.
If you don't see Kickify in the list, skip ahead: when the widget is on your EDGE, tap Open in Qaem Hub on it, and Qaem Hub opens with the module already picked. More about the app is on the Qaem Hub page.
Get and import the widget
- Get the
.icuewidgetfile from the Elgato Marketplace. If you bought Kickify here on qaemdev.com, it's under Account → Downloads. The product page links to both. - Double-click the file, and iCUE imports it.
- If nothing happens, open iCUE, go to the Widgets section for your EDGE, use the + button and choose the file.
Place it and pick its Widget type
Drag Kickify onto a screen area of your EDGE. It lays itself out for any size, horizontal or vertical.
Its settings appear beside the layout in iCUE. Pick a Widget type: Live status, Chat, Activity, Go live card or KICKs leaderboard. Then pick a Design: Studio, Pulse, Bubbles or Ticker. Add the widget more than once to give each copy its own job.
Allow the widget in Qaem Hub
The first time the widget reaches Qaem Hub, it shows Allow this widget in Qaem Hub and a 4-digit code. Qaem Hub shows the widget's name and a code too.
- Check that the two codes match.
- Click Allow in Qaem Hub.
You do this once: every copy of Kickify shares the approval.
Connect Kick
On the EDGE, tap Connect Kick. You can also start it from the Kickify module in Qaem Hub.
- Kick opens in your PC's browser. Sign in if it asks.
- Allow QaemDev.
- The tab says you're connected, and you can close it. The widget shows Connected as your channel and loads it.
If the browser tab didn't open, or you closed it, tap Open on this PC. The sign-in finishes on the same PC that runs Qaem Hub.
Make each copy yours
Tap the gear in the widget's header to open its Settings. The Show tab sets the send bar, quick replies and whether to hide !commands for Chat, which events show in Activity, and the period of the KICKs leaderboard.
Behaviour sets what a tap and a hold do, whether a ban needs a second tap, and what tapping or holding the title does. The Kick tab shows who you're signed in as, whether chat and alerts are on, Stream dashboard and Disconnect.
What it can access
When you connect, Kick asks to let QaemDev:
- Read your profile and your channel: live or offline, viewers, title, category and subscribers.
- Change your stream title and category.
- Send chat messages as your channel.
- Subscribe to your channel's events, for chat, follows, subs, gifted subs, KICKs and channel rewards.
- Read your KICKs leaderboard.
- Moderate: delete chat messages, and time out or ban chatters.
The sign-in stays in Qaem Hub, encrypted on your PC. The widget never sees it, and only widgets you allow can use it. Kick's sign-in needs a secret that can't ship inside an app, so signing in, and renewing the sign-in when it expires, go through qaemdev.com.
Good to know
- Go live doesn't start a stream. Kick has no way to start a stream from outside. Go live opens Kick's stream dashboard, and your streaming app does the rest. While you're live, it opens your channel.
- Title and category. Tap the stream title to change it, and search Kick's categories on the EDGE.
- Moderation. Hold a chat line to reply, delete it, time the chatter out for 10 minutes or ban them. A ban always asks twice, unless you turn Tap twice to ban off.
- This stream's counters. Live status shows this stream's new followers, subscribers, gifted subs and KICKs. To start them from zero, set Hold the title to Zero this stream's counters in Behaviour.
- Disconnect in the widget's Kick tab or in Qaem Hub forgets the sign-in on your PC.
Troubleshooting
The widget says Qaem Hub isn't running
Tap Start Qaem Hub, or open it from the tray or the Start menu. If it isn't installed, Get Qaem Hub takes you to the download. If the widget says Turn on Kickify in Qaem Hub, tap Open in Qaem Hub, then add the module or switch it on in Library. If it says Update Qaem Hub, install the newest version.
It says Not allowed
You clicked Deny in Qaem Hub, or nobody answered in time. If nobody answered, tap Ask again. If you denied it, open Kickify's details in Qaem Hub and click Reset under Widgets, then allow it.
The sign-in was declined, or timed out
Tap Connect Kick again and allow QaemDev on Kick's page.
Chat or Activity says Connect again for chat
Your sign-in doesn't allow the widget to receive chat and alerts. Open the Kick tab in Settings and tap Connect again.
Chat says it isn't switched on for Kickify yet
The relay on qaemdev.com that passes chat and alerts on isn't answering. Live status, the title and category, and the leaderboard still work. The widget tries again by itself every few minutes.
Chat says Waiting for chat, or Chat reconnecting
Qaem Hub is still subscribing to your channel's events, or reconnecting to them. It carries on by itself. The Kick tab in Settings shows where chat and alerts stand.
It says Sign in to Kick again
Kick no longer accepts the sign-in. Tap Connect again.
It says Kick asked to slow down
Kick's limits were reached. The widget says when it will try again and carries on by itself.
It says Can't reach Kick
Your PC can't reach Kick right now. Check your connection, then tap Try again.
