CORSAIR XENEON EDGE
The XENEON EDGE without iCUE
You don't need iCUE to use the XENEON EDGE: Windows sees it as an ordinary 2560 × 720 touchscreen, so the picture and touch work without it. What iCUE adds is its widgets. To fill the Edge with widgets without iCUE, run a full-screen app on it, such as EdgeOS, which is free and has a Desktop Mode made for exactly this.
EdgeOS is ours. CORSAIR's facts checked 26 Oct 2026.
What works without iCUE
CORSAIR's own FAQ says iCUE isn't needed to use the Edge as a basic touchscreen monitor; it's needed for widget layouts and its monitoring dashboards.
| Without iCUE | With iCUE | |
|---|---|---|
| Picture, over HDMI or USB-C (DisplayPort Alt Mode) | Yes | Yes |
| Touch | Yes, as a Windows touchscreen | Yes |
| Extend or duplicate your desktop onto it | Yes | Yes, with iCUE's widgets switched off for the Edge |
| iCUE widgets (.icuewidget files, the Elgato Marketplace) | No | Yes |
| CORSAIR's system monitoring dashboards | No | Yes |
| A full-screen app such as EdgeOS | Yes | Yes |
How EdgeOS does it: Desktop Mode
EdgeOS treats the Edge as the Windows screen it is and fills all of it with a dashboard you lay out yourself. It's free, with 46 free widgets; Premium $19.99 once adds the rest. No iCUE, no account.
- 01Connect the Edge as a display, over HDMI or USB-C. If iCUE is installed, switch off its widgets for the Edge, so Windows uses it as an ordinary screen.
- 02Install EdgeOS. Its first-time setup finds the Edge, shows its size and tells you whether iCUE is running.
- 03Choose Desktop Mode. EdgeOS runs full screen on the Edge, where your taps reach it like on any touchscreen.
- 04Pick a starter layout, then drag widgets such as a clock, Now Playing, the volume mixer or CPU and GPU cards onto it on the Layout page.
Three ways to fill the Edge without iCUE
| Price | Best for | Trade-off | |
|---|---|---|---|
| EdgeOS | Free; Premium $19.99 once | A touch dashboard: clocks, media, a volume mixer, PC stats, launchers, streaming | Windows only; some widgets need Premium |
| AIDA64 SensorPanel | Paid, part of AIDA64 Extreme | A detailed hardware-monitoring panel you design yourself | A monitoring panel rather than a set of touch controls |
| A full-screen browser | Free | One web dashboard, such as Home Assistant or Grafana | One page at a time, and you build the dashboard elsewhere |
When iCUE is still the better pick
You already run iCUE
If iCUE runs anyway for your CORSAIR keyboard, fans or lighting, its built-in widgets cost you nothing extra, and EdgeOS can sit among them as an iCUE widget in Widget Mode.
You want CORSAIR's sensor widgets or SimHub
Those come with iCUE. See how EdgeOS and iCUE's widgets compare, feature by feature.

Common questions
- Do I need iCUE for the XENEON EDGE?
- Not to use it as a screen. Windows treats the Edge as an ordinary touchscreen monitor without iCUE. iCUE is only needed for iCUE widgets and CORSAIR's monitoring dashboards.
- Does touch work on the XENEON EDGE without iCUE?
- Yes. CORSAIR says iCUE isn't needed to use the Edge as a basic touchscreen monitor, so Windows takes your taps like on any touchscreen.
- What software can I use on the XENEON EDGE instead of iCUE?
- Any full-screen Windows app. EdgeOS is a free dashboard app made for the Edge, with its own Desktop Mode. AIDA64's SensorPanel shows hardware readings, and a browser in full screen shows a web dashboard.
- What's the difference between EdgeOS's Desktop Mode and Widget Mode?
- Desktop Mode fills the Edge as a Windows screen, with no iCUE. Widget Mode runs EdgeOS inside iCUE as a widget, next to your other iCUE widgets.
- Is EdgeOS made by CORSAIR?
- No. EdgeOS is an independent app by QAEM and isn't affiliated with or endorsed by CORSAIR.
